Lastovo Village is an old medieval town with a long and interesting history, surrounded by mountains and forming the natural shape of an amphitheater. Lastovo preserves beautiful family houses from the 15th and 16 century. They are decorated with cylindrical chimneys that the locals call “fumari” and with high broad terraces “Lastovski sulari” which have become a trademark of Lastovo.

From the sights in Lastovo, there is the local church of St. Kuzma and Damian, Rector’s Palace-Palac, Kašćel, and numerous churches.

Lastovo Scalinade (stone steps) that envelop the old core around the church and beyond and the Lastovo chimneys give a special Mediterranean atmosphere, although Lastovo is not situated by the sea but in the very heart of the island.
